An effort will be made to help refer and find temporary care for this time. No fees will be charged during the providers vacations time. (adequate notice will be given in this regard).
Daycare fees include all sick days, statutory holidays and vacation time - these are paid days. Fees are based on booked days not attendance. Refunds and credits will not be given for days where your child does not attend. Affordable Child Care Benefit
The Affordable Child Care Benefit Program is run by the Provincial Government and it is designed to assist families with their daycare costs. This Benefit is available to families with incomes up to $111,000/year. Parents who qualify for Affordable Child Care Benefit must have full approval in place prior to attendance. Proof of qualification must be presented to provider prior to registration. Parents who qualify must pre-pay for the months while waiting for their payments to begin. I will reimburse the amount covered when/if the Affordable Child Care Benefit arrives. Any fees not covered by Affordable Child Care Benefit are the parent’s responsibility and are payable before the 1st of each month in advance. No Exceptions.
The Fee Reduction Initiative is a reduction given by the current government and at any time could be withdrawn with 30 days or less notice. Any fees not covered by the Fee Reduction Initiative and Affordable Child Care Benefit are the parents/guardians responsibility and are payable before the 1st of each month, in advance. Daycare fees are set out and contracted between Child Care Provider and the Parents/Guardians of the children in care. The fees are the responsibility of the Parents/Guardians at all times.
Families will be given 2 month notice of any Fee or Schedule changes where the situation allows. If you are requesting a change in your child’s attendance (i.e. days of attendance or drop off/pick up times within my open times) this requires 30 days notice request on writing. This does not guarantee that your request can be accommodated.
Unpaid fees are subject to immediate suspension or termination of care unless reasonable arrangements are made and accepted by both parties.
DROP-IN RATE (Not available during a pandemic, such as COVID19)
Drop-ins are considered to be an odd day where care is needed. Drop-in is not more than 20 hours per week with a minimum of two hours. The rate for a drop-in child is $50 per day (per child). A 24-hour notice is required. Drop-in care is an unsecured spot and space permitted. Drop-in fees are payable per occurrence.
There will be a 4 weeks trial period in which either party may end this agreement, for any reason, any fees paid will not be refunded should that occur. Gradual entry is also required if your child has not been in care prior. Our daily fee will be charged if gradual entry is required.
Parents agree that a minimum notice of one full month, 30 days, (notice to be given on the first of any given month) will be given for permanent withdrawal of any child from care or agree to pay a months fee in lieu of. No exceptions will be made.
Little Bloomers Family Childcare reserves the right to suspend or terminate care of any child without notice, should it be deemed necessary for the overall safety and well-being of myself, my family and the other children and their families in my care and/or my home. As well, I reserve this right should I feel disrespected and/or threatened by a parent or guardian in any way.
LATE ARRIVAL/PICKUP POLICY
(Our PICKUP/DROP OFF procedures have changed to follow the government social distancing recommendations, feel free to request our “Pandemic Policy”)
At drop off time, you the parents/guardian are expected to deliver your child through the baby gate, into the playroom. You will be expected to supervise your child at all times in the entrance area, to ensure they don't access the stairs going to the upper part of the house.
Please advise the daycare prior to 8:30 am if your child will be arriving earlier or later than the pre-arranged time.
Please advise the daycare immediately if you will be arriving later than the pre-arranged time to pick up your child. It is the parent’s responsibility to ensure that children are picked up no later than 5:00 p.m. If you are not able to pick up your child by 5:00 p.m. alternate arrangements must be made.
Please notify the daycare if an unauthorized person will be picking up your child. Written permission must be received before we will release a child to anyone who is not authorized on the registration form. We will require identification. The person should then be added to the list of people authorized to pick up the child.
In the event that a parent cannot be contacted, it is the policy of Little Bloomers Family Childcare to call an emergency contact should a child remain in care after 5:10 p.m. If you or an authorized alternate cannot be contacted and a reasonable amount of time has passed, I will consider the child abandoned and call the appropriate Ministry.
If someone whom I deem incapable of providing safe care arrives to pick up the children, they will be refused and you or your authorized alternate will be called to pick up the children. If an alternate cannot be reached within a reasonable length of time, Ministry for Children and Family Development will be called. If it appears that you are incapable to providing safe care, I will suggest we call an authorized alternate to pick up the children. If you insist on taking the children, I will release them to your care and call the RCMP.
Overtime fees are charged at $1 per minute/per child, if a child remains in care after 5:00 p.m, unless prior arrangements have been made. Overtime fees are due and payable upon pickup or prior to the next days care. Notice will be given after the 3rd occurrence.
(Our Illness Policy has changed to follow the current COVID19 guidelines, feel free to request our “COVID19 Illness Policy”.
Little Bloomers Illness Policy - Non COVID19 times:
Please advise the childcare prior to 8:30 am if a child will not be attending daycare due to illness.
Parents agree that a child who is ill (eg. fever, infection, diarrhea, communicable disease, or any other type of illness that may be passed on to others) will be kept at home to protect the well-being of myself, my family and other children in my care. The parents further agree should a child become ill while in care that immediate arrangements will be made to remove the child from the daycare. Children will not be allowed to return to daycare until they have been symptom free for at least 48 hours, without the aid of symptom reducing medications, such as Tylenol or Advil. In some cases, a note from a doctor may be necessary.
Parents are required to inform me of any serious illness, or communicable disease or infection including flu, vomiting, diarrhea, pink eye and unexplained skin rashes (with their child or other family members) within 24 hours to allow other families within the child care centre to be alerted if necessary. Failure to do so is ground for immediate termination of care.
Important! When it is time to schedule your Child’s shots, please schedule them for a Friday or a day when you, the Parent or a caregiver can be with your Child for the following 24 hours!
There is always the possibility that medical reasons might interfere (short notice) with the daycares ability to care for your child/ren. In the case that the daycare is unable to provide care to your child, it is up to the parents to find an alternate place during that time.
By signing our parent/provider contract you are accepting that you will have a Back Up Care arrangement in place, in the situation where the daycare is closed, or when your child is too ill to attend daycare and you are unable to stay home with them, or when your child must be picked up early from care, for any reason.
Provider will be allowed 10 sick/personal, 2 professional development days and 3 bereavement days annually, which will not be deducted of your monthly fee. Please respect my illness policy. If a child is not well enough to go outside to play or attend school, they are not well enough to attend daycare.
(To see the extended version of our Illness policy, please have a look at our policy book at our parent board)
Our home is child-proofed to the best of our ability, however, accidents do happen. Any damage to my home or personal belongings that is willfully caused by your child will be replaced or repaired at the cost of the parents.
Little Bloomers Family Childcare will repair or replace broken daycare equipment & toys due to normal wear and tear. However, should your child purposely damage or break equipment or toys, then the item will be repaired or replaced at the cost of the parents.
Insurance for assistive devices:
The daycare cannot be held responsible for any lost, damaged or broken assistive devices, such as hearing aids, contact lenses or glasses. We ask you to have adequate replacement insurance for such items should they become misplaced, damaged or broken.
HEAD LICE POLICY
If a child has live head lice present, they are to be excluded from the Centre until treatment has commenced and all live lice and eggs have been removed.
We will work in conjunction with parents during potty training. If you have a method that has been working for you, please let us know and we will adopt it for your child. We will work with you - but not for you. Should you discontinue potty training at home, please let us know. If a child shows no interest in potty training, we may choose to discontinue and try again at a later date. Please do not ask us to offer “treats” to the child for going “potty”.
CUSTODY AND RELATED COURT ORDERS
The daycare centre and its staff cannot become involved in the marital or custody issues of the families that we serve. Unless we receive a written court order, no information will be released to either party. If a custody or court order exists, a copy of the order needs to be placed in the child's file.
A non-refundable deposit of a full month’s fee (per child) is required upon completion of registration to secure your child's placement in care. This deposit is non-refundable and will be applied to your last months fee. Spaces will NOT be held unless the deposit fee is paid in full. (not applicable for Drop-In contract)
Registration is not complete, and care will not commence until all the paper work is done! Prior to the start date of care the following must be received by Little Bloomers Family Childcare for each child:
- If your child is under the age of 3, you must provide a playpen for nap time. It must be suitable for sleeping (double check the description on the inside bottom of you playpen: it must say “sleeping or sleep” in the description). A good suggestion is the brand “GRACO Pack and Play”. However if you are bringing a used one, please make sure it is in good condition (no rips or tears or loose threads) and that the words “sleep” and “suitable for sleeping” are included in the description.
ARTICLES TO BE SUPPLIED BY PARENTS
Diapers, baby wipes, two changes of weather appropriate clothes including hats, mittens, muddy buddies, slippers, sunscreen, towel and swim suit for summer month, formula or breast milk for infants and two bottles for infants. We will supply a healthy snack in morning and in the afternoon. The parents have to provide lunch. Food can also be kept in our fridge. (Fridge is NOT in use during COVID-19 pandemic, please use ice packs instead)
The parents will need to supply an Emergency-To-Go-Bag for the child in the following 2 month after starting date. In the case you cannot reach us, we need to be prepared and ready for at least 72 hours.
We have an extended version of each policy and other policies up on request!
